We are individuals and families that have somehow been affected by disability who believe that all are created in God’s image and deserve a chance to express their gifts and abilities in our communities and churches.

Our Mission
As a Christian organization we connect individuals and families with Christ, equip churches and their leadership in the Grater Orange County on disability ministry and awareness to meet the needs of a family or persons with disabilities.

We meet with and develop leaders and teams who implement ongoing disability ministry in their churches. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available ranging from assisting in the office, transporting equipment, outreach to the disabled and their families and assisting the disabled in many ways. We are motivated by the unconditional love of Jesus Christ who invites all to join and enjoy their unique place in the family of God.

Programs and Connections

Through the Roof – We provide training for churches in disability ministry how to include individuals and families with disabilities by creating a connecting atmosphere with the church staff and congregation. We offer networking for churches to develop a broader circle for people with disabilities to become active.

Family Retreats -- A five day camp that provides respite, relaxation, support and activities for the whole family affected by disability. You can help create one of the most memorable vacations in the lives of a family affected by disabilities by volunteering to serve them. You will receive all the necessary training to help serve the family and meet many new people.

2008 Family Retreat Dates are July 23 through 27 in Murrieta, CA and you can apply now at www.joniandfriends.org/retreats.

Special Delivery – offers individuals and churches the opportunity to reach into people’s lives affected by disabilities and share God’s love with them in a very real way. People in helpless circumstances, the “shut in” and the “shut out” need the message of Christ, need you, need the family of Christ, and need the hope and encouragement only the Holy Spirit and God’s Word can provide.

Wheels for the World – come help change lives internationally through Wheels for the World. Used wheelchairs are collected locally, sent to correctional facilities to be refurbished and shipped overseas. Short term missionaries like yourselves have the opportunity to give the gift of mobility along with Bibles and the good news of Jesus Christ. We will be making a exploratory trip to Lithuania in May to setup Wheels for the World distribution there.
